Power Outage

On Saturday 04 Feb 2006 at about 2:30am our power went out due to a very large storm here in north western Washington. We lived here with no heat or electricity for almost 17 hours. For heat we just used the fire place and we all stayed around it most of the day. It was nice to not have the TV on all day long. Although I did let the kids watch a movie on the laptop... Until the battery went dead. All in all the day was quite pleasant. We even managed to go the the movies. The Blue Fox DriveIn Theater was in a part of the island that had power, so we went on a family outing. Like all good DriveIn's it was a double feature. First we watched "Hoodwinked" then "Yours Mine and Ours". Both were cute movies, and it gave us a chance to forget about the power being out and enjoy some family time there in the car. When we came home the power had been restored.
