Japanese Cherry Tree

This is the tattoo that I got yesterday. It is a Japanese cherry tree or Sakura. The Kanji reads "family". I thought that this was fitting because it was here in Japan that Stella and I got married and started our family. I really like it (the idea and the tattoo) a lot. The tattoo artist's name is Koumi, He did a great job. The artist that drew the original tree is Shellie, from Madison, WI. Enjoy! The shape of the tree comes from this haiku The trunk of the tree is faded at the bottom in a traditional Japanese art style. This tattoo fits in nicely with the sun that I already had. It is now giving its life giving rays to the tree that is symbolic of the beginning of our family. Maybe next I will get one of the kids playing under the tree or something like that. I don't know. I might just have to start working on an idea for that concept. Posted by Picasa
