2002 Ford F-150 Boss 5.4

This is my 2002 Ford f-150 Boss 5.4 This truck was a Limited Edition "factory aftermarket" production vehicle. Ford made the truck in Michigan, sent it to LA West in Indiana, than ford sent them to its dealers. This truck is number 100 of 500. They sold new for $38,000+, I was not "lucky" enough to be tricked in to that low, low price. (note sarcasm) I bought it one year old with 9,000 miles for less than half!
This truck is my most favorite vehicle ever! I like it better than the old 1984 Mustang GT, 325i convertible BMW, even better than the Merkur Scorpio! The only thing that would make it better would be a "ATI Pro-Charger" intercooled super charger kit! (take note for birthday and Christmas ideas!) Anyhow here is one of the two Family vehicles we have.
Swim Times
The Navy requires the its personnel exercise at least three times a week. There are quite a few reasons why this is, some are obvious some are not. I am not trying to focus on the reasons here so I will just leave it at that. We are tested on our physical abilities twice a year. PFA's (Physical Readiness assessment) consists of a sitting toe touch, two minutes of situps, two minutes of push ups, and either a 1.5 mile run or a 500yd/450m swim. Failure to sit and touch our toes is a failure. During the two minutes of push ups and sit ups the goal is to see how many you can get done within that time. There is a minimum number for both based on age and sex. The run and swim have time limits based on age and sex as well.
Now that I have told you the back ground, here is the reason I am writing this in the first place. Two PFA cycles ago I swam my 450m's in 9:12. The last PFA I swam it in 9:04. Wednesday as a part of my weekly workout routine we did a mock PFA. I have dropped two minutes, I did it in 7:02 this time. LOOK I realize I am not an Olympic swimmer. But it is an improvement for me. My goal for the official PFA in October is to get to 6:30.

WOW, I'm not sure how I feel about this new found information. Am I smart, in a dumb kind of way, or am I dumb, in a smart kind of way. How good is 131 anyway? Where does that really rank me on a scale with my peers?
Aviation Electrician's Mate
In a nutshell, this is what my job does:
General Info: Aviation Electrician's Mates (AE) are aircraft electricians. They maintain a wide range of electrical and navigational equipment in aircraft including power generators, power distribution systems, lighting systems, flight instrument and fuel systems, temperature and pressure indicating systems. AEs are also trained in computers to support this state-of-the-art equipment. Aircrew volunteers perform various in-flight duties in turbojet and propeller aircraft and helicopters. Aircrew volunteers should volunteer under the Aircrew Recruiting Program.
What They Do: Duties performed by AEs include: testing, installing and maintaining a wide range of aircraft instruments and electrical equipment including generators, motors and lighting systems; reading electrical system diagrams; maintaining aircraft compass systems; performing electrical troubleshooting operations; using a variety of electrical measuring equipment; performing micro-mini module repair; maintaining automatic flight control systems; maintaining inertial navigation systems; performing as aircrew on various aircraft.
Detailed List of Required Duties
ASVAB Score Requirements: AR+MK+EI+GS=218
Other Requirements: Must have normal color perception. Security Clearance (SECRET) Requirement. Must be U.S. citizen
Technical Training Information: Enlistees are taught the fundamentals of this rating through on-the-job training or formal Navy schooling. Additional training for specific aircraft or equipment is generally received before reporting to operational activities. Advanced technical and specific operational training is available in this rating during later stages of career development.
Aviation basic theory and aviation electrical systems and theory Group instruction After "A" school, aviation electrician's mates are assigned to squadrons or aircraft carriers or other ships or to naval air activities ashore in the United States or overseas. They may also volunteer for aircrew duties and serve in a variety of capacities. During a 20-year period in the Navy, AEs spend about 60 percent of their time assigned to fleet units and 40 percent to shore stations.
Working Environment: Because AEs may be assigned to sea duty or flight duty in any part of the world, the environment for performing their work varies widely, depending on individual assignments. At various times they may work indoors, outdoors, in clean or dirty situations, in shop or office surroundings and under tropical or arctic conditions. At different times AEs may work alone or closely with other people. Their work sometimes is physical and usually requires little supervision.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

My ........................ Everything!
Have you ever been just sitting, not really doing anything, and for no reason at all your heart swells with love. Love that feels like new love, love that will never go away, love that feels like it has always been there? That feeling like you have butterflies in you stomach? Nervous 8th grade love with a dash of I know I have found my eternal soul mate love? A feeling of completeness and wanting to be near this one that you love? And knowing that the object of your affection feels the same way for you? This my friends is Utopia.

I love this feeling! I get it all the time. This is how I know I am with the right woman! I have this feeling right now. Who would have thought that a chance meeting of two people from different regions of the country, different views on a variety of things, completely different hobbies and choices of music and culture, would ever join the navy, get stationed in the same command and meet while working in the same office could have ever fell in LOVE. How could we ever find common ground and build a lasting, loving, trusting and truly fun relationship. I don't know how or why it happened, but I am so very glad that it did! Stella is in every way my partner, my lover, my girlfriend, my best friend, my loving wife! How serendipitous! Now add to this to the joy of having to wonderful, beautiful children. And you may begin to feel how great it is to be me. I could not ask for anything more.
The only person on earth as lucky as me..... is her!
Where do you get this stuff?
As it turns out my "Mormon Name" is
Davenport Shore Damascus!
What's yours? This just cant be because, the name given to me by my father was in fact, Arthur Moss. I choose Art. I can't fault a person for being creative, but how or even better, why do people come up with this stuff? I guess it is just idle time. There seems to be no logic behind this little tool that will re-name you. I entered a number of name combinations but none of the names it generated seemed to have any logic to them what so ever! So it is, so it shall be. I'm not sure if that is a quote or not, but it should be. I thought this little Naming Program was kind of fun, not that much fun, but a little bit... Fun.

Idle time
I am so addicted to
YETI Sports. Once the page starts to load, my heart starts to race. I select to enter the English site and I start to sweat. I then click on the play on line link and my breathing quickens. Then I click Part 5 - flamingo drive. I can hardly contain my self, I have to get on the top 1000 high score list. I play for hours and hours, only to fall short of 1000th place by 1500 points. I hate my self, I am never playing again.
20 minutes go by and I start all over again.
PS I did this shameful thing for parts 1 to 4 also.
here is the link again.....
Don't get addicted!
my high score is 4753 good luck.
1000th is 4973
1st is 6898
United States of America independence Day 2004
This is a reprint of my 30JUNE04 journal entry.
I think it is fitting independence Day.
So here it is, almost seven years of serving my country in the United States Navy. On September 11, 1997 I arrived at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes Illinois. (BOOT CAMP) I had every intention of doing my four years and getting out. I wanted money to go to college, but did not know what I wanted to study. There was a small part of me that wanted to retire after twenty years. I was never going to say that out loud.
So as I said it has already been almost seven years, and I will be reenlisting for an additional six years soon. At the end of that I will have served fourteen years, so I will go for an additional six and finish off my twenty and retire at the ripe old age of forty one.
It sounds so simple. What you may not see here is all the hard work and trials that have gotten me this far, and what it will take to make it to twenty years. It will take blood, sweat, and tears from me, Stella, and the kids. I would never make them live like this if I did not feel that it was worth it, if I did not believe what the United States stands for, and fights for... Even what my FRIENDS, SHIPMATES and members of other services DIE for.
All of this aside, this is my job, MY profession. I am a United States sailor. I am an Aviation Electrician's Mate. I am a petty officer second class, an E-5. And I am good at what I do.
I AM A UNITED STATES SAILOR
I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THOSE APPOINTED OVER ME
I REPRESENT THE FIGHTING SPIRIT OF THE NAVY AND THOSE THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE ME TO DEFEND FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY AROUND THE WORLD
I PROUDLY SERVE MY COUNTRY'S NAVY COMBAT TEAM WITH HONOR, COURAGE AND COMMITMENT
I AM COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE AND THE FAIR TREATMENT OF ALL
This is a subject that I feel strongly about. I love my job, my navy and my country. This is not all that I care about, more that this I love my Wife and my two children. There is nothing that can make me happier than them. It is because of them that I to do my part in the Navy. I love you Stella, Niko, and Penelope.
That's it for today.
